Helping the children of our nation’s
fattest state get healthy
With a passion for healthy eating and wellness, along with powerful life experience, Luis Bruno is no ordinary chef. His inspirational story is one of conquering great challenges, facing diabetes and other serious health conditions. Once weighing in at almost 400 pounds, his toughest challenge – to lose weight or face a painful, uncertain but certainly shortened life – includes maintaining a non-surgical weight loss of 200 pounds through exercise and healthy eating.
Now, Chef Luis is all about helping people – especially *Mississippi’s children – eat correctly. He shares his knowledge with adults and children to show that they, too, can make healthy choices through diet and exercise. An upcoming celebrity chef and author who has been Executive Chef to three Governors and appears regularly on TV, Chef Luis motivates us to make better food choices.
Making food delicious, healthy and fun
Luis’ recipes are great tasting and fun to prepare. By converting ingredients and lowering calories, along with proper exercise and portion control, you can still enjoy Luis' fudge brownies.
*According to studies by the Center for Disease Control & Prevention (CDC), Mississippi was the nation’s fattest state in 2008.
